Cand. scient. (M. Sc.) in informatics, University of Bergen, Norway, 1990.Thesis title: Improving bounds for the expected duration in probabilistic activity networks using hypercube multiprocessors.

Dr. scient. (Ph. D.) in informatics, University of Bergen, Norway, 1993. Thesis title: Stochastic optimization and parallel processing.

Work experience

1986 - 89. Part-time work at Group for Advanced Computing, Chr. Michelsen Institute, Bergen, Norway.1985 - 89. Teaching Assistant at Dept. of Informatics, University of Bergen, Norway.1990 - 93. NAVF scholarship at Dept. of Informatics, University of Bergen. Most of the time was spent at Norwegian University of Technology and Science, Trondheim, Norway.

1993. A two month post-doc scholarship at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

1993 - 1996. Research scientist at Telenor Research and Development. Project leader from January 1994, working on industrialisation of Trusted Third Party software for electronic commerce, secure electronic mail and EDI. Group leader for "Security" from October 1994 to June 1995. From July 1995 to March 1996 group leader for "Corporate strategy and scenario planning".

March 1996 - October 1996. Senior advisor for Telenor Privat AS. Responsibilities included strategy and scenario-based planning.

October 1996 - February 1999. Senior executive advisor for new business development, Telenor Privat AS.

October 1996 - August 2001. Part-time Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management, Norwegian University of Technology and Science, Trondheim, Norway. Responsible for a Ph.D. course in system dynamics and systems thinking.

August 1998 – 2007. From March 1999 to 2006 fully employed by Pantarei AS. Pantarei AS is a consulting business doing technology, strategy, project management and new business development.

April 1997 – present. From April 2007 fully employed by Smart Management AS. At present CTO and responsible for development of the Tag-hub system.

August 2002-present. Part time position as associate professor at Molde College - primarily in the area of logistics.
